| Welcome to the homepage for the third Volunteer Inclusion Project based at the London Archaeological Archive & Research Centre (LAARC) The aim this time is to continue to create more shelf space for future archives by effective, efficient packing of material excavated over 30 years ago. The project focuses on two sections of the archive; the first will continue working on general finds archives from 1974, picking up from where we left the last project; the second tackles registered finds archives from the early 1970's, bringing material up to the archive's standards. This time round we've increased the programme and volunteers from various parts of the community will be joining us for 13 weeks. In addition to volunteers helping us, we are offering them a chance to develop basic transferable skills which can improve CV's as well as improve their knowledge of London's Archaeology through specialist workshops and by handling real artefacts. Keep an eye on these pages to find out more about how the project progresses, look at images of rediscovered finds and learn more about getting involved. Weekly Blogs Staff Profiles | |
